A Welcome Message From Our Founders: How We Want to Shape the Future of Work With Worlk

Every story has a beginning and an end. What lies between those two points is the journey.

Our Journey

“Every story has a beginning and an end. What lies between those two points is the journey.”

Dear reader, you reading this article already indicates that you are interested in the future of work. Maybe you are looking for new innovative solutions to transform your corporate culture or perhaps you just have a feeling that something has to change how we as a society view work.

The latter was what we had in common when we met in spring 2022 to talk about what later should be known as worlk. Three people with very different backgrounds. Christian, a product developer for start-ups, Georges, a designer by trade, and Klaus, a marketer his whole life. We all experienced the changes organizations were going through and the challenges they were facing:

  • HR teams crumbling under the sudden avalanche of home office or remote working requests
  • Struggles to instill a corporate culture in a world that had been shifting towards hybrid work models
  • Retaining and attracting talent that put more emphasis on non-monetary aspects such as the flexibility to work from different locations
The three founders of worlk

Worlk is a B2B platform that helps employers retain talent by integrating remote work into their company culture and leveraging empty desks in other companies.

We all realized that those changes would have happened anyway, but the pandemic was an accelerator and as in so many cases throughout history, external factors forced organizations to change. However for organizations to change, they first had to understand the concept of remote working. Because with the emergence of home office, a new threat appeared on the horizon: mental health issues. Companies had to learn the hard way that home office is not the end-all-be-all. Permanent home office can result in “decreased overall physical and mental well-being” (source). So, we asked ourselves: if home office is not the answer, what can be done to provide companies and their employees with a solution that allows a better life-work balance and makes remote working more satisfying and fulfilling?

We interviewed dozens of HR leaders and CEOs to really distill the essence of the problem. The fear from an employer’s side was to lose top talents to other companies that provide more flexible and diverse remote working experiences. Though organizations are often willing to offer hybrid work models, they usually lack an attractive solution. Or the solution puts a huge burden on HR teams. And that’s where worlk comes into play.

The Idea Behind Worlk

What was very clear to us was that our solution must provide companies with a global reach and go beyond the traditional concept of coworking spaces. The one element we kept discussing was that we believed in the power of a global business community. Providing space is one thing, what we wanted to do was provide culture. This cultural aspect is what sets worlk apart from other solutions. It was so simple: There is so much unused office space and there are so many remote working requests. Why not bring those two things together? Worlk was born: a B2B platform that helps employers retain talent by integrating remote work into their company culture and leveraging empty desks in other companies.

The Journey Is On

Our Goal

Our goal at worlk is to build a global business community that offers more flexible, affordable and interactive remote working experiences for companies and their employees. That’s what we are working hard for every day. We believe in the synergies that can be leveraged between companies and that companies in order to succeed have to break down their silos and recognize the opportunities that are out there. Does your company struggle with its social media strategy? Why not host someone from a digital agency and start a conversation? It might be the beginning of a fruitful collaboration and friendship.

At the same time organizations in order to develop their talent must expose their employees to new experiences as only through those experiences you can help them grow the skills necessary to become impactful leaders. Skills such as perspective taking, self-awareness, or decision making thrive when being exposed to new cultures and new settings.

Our Journey

We started this article with a beautiful quotation. Here it is again: “Every story has a beginning and an end. What lies between those two points is the journey.” We as an organization just embarked on a journey to change the future of work. It is an exciting trip with unexpected turns at every corner and we are eager to see how worlk will change and evolve from an idea three guys had to a solution that will hopefully make life easier for many people. We are happy and grateful that you are interested in this unique journey but rather than watching our journey from afar we would love to have you join us on our adventure.

Because the world of business needs to pave the way toward a culture of more sharing, acceptance, and above all positivity. If you feel the same then JOIN US FOR THE RIDE.

Thank you!
